Last Friday evening was full of powerful storytelling and well-deserved recognition at the Image Awards Film Gala as part of the 50th Anniversary of the Atlanta Film Festival.
Among those honored were film producer Will Packer; Chairman of the Board and CEO of Gray Television and Atlantic American Corporation, Hilton Howell; actress Carrie Preston; Academy Award-nominated actor Josh Brolin; writer and producer Alex Orr; as well as acclaimed comedian, actor, and writer David Cross, as well as Georgia Entertainment.
“It is incredible to receive the Ossie Davis Award,” Packer shared. “I am completely honored and humbled, and I feel like I will continue spending my career proving that I am worthy of being honored with an award like this.”
“I’m deeply flattered,” Howell shared. “I am even more flattered that it’s part of this sort of function. We made a huge investment in Georgia film. We have one of the most fabulous states in the country,” he said. “We have beaches, mountains, forests. Everything! Having Georgia as a locale for film is huge because film is culture.”

From honoring industry legends, to celebrating the future of film, the evening reflected the spirit of storytelling that continues to shape Atlanta's growing influence in entertainment.
