Atlanta Film Society Presents Copyright 101: Protecting Your Ideas
“Producing content is a labor of love. For many artists, developing a concept can take months or even years. With so much legal liability at stake, a series of questions arise: how do I file for copyright protection, what does copyright law give me, when do I own the work and when the work is work for hire, and what happens if I or someone else infringes on protected work?
This session will cover:
What copyright law is (and what it’s not)
2. The benefits of copyright protection (and the difference between copyright and WGA protection)
3. Understanding copyright law in connection with several important agreements for film production and episodic series.
