Three Events in the "A"Week of July 3 - 9

July 7

Kids Video Connection, Inc. presents Children’s Film Festival (In-Person and Virtual)

The Atlanta Children’s Film Festival promotes positive, educational, and entertaining children’s and family-oriented films. This educational and fun festival is two weeks of eye-opening and exciting activities which include film screenings, and workshops for children, teens, and industry professionals.

One of the goals of this festival is to introduce youth to careers in film and television. At the Atlanta Children’s Film Festival, children watch eye-opening films which will expand their imagination, learn media literacy, and create their own positive media content.

This year’s film festival will be July 7 -24, 2022. After two years of a fully virtual format, this year will be a hybrid festival. The theme is One Big Family Creating Together. Sixty films made by and for young people will be screened. The films come from filmmakers from around the world.

There will be awesome guest teachers:

Allyssa Lewis, Emmy-Award winning animator

Fran Burst - Terranella, Emmy-Award winning independent film, and television director and producer

Janlatae Mullie - Award winning director

Kelly Young-Silva - actress and youth acting instructor.

The festival kicks off on July 7, 2022, with an animation workshop, a festival favorite in past years. By popular demand we will showcase all films via virtual screening July 18 - 24th, 2022

Atlanta Film Society presents Acting Workshop Creating Three-Dimensional Characters

As the Georgia Film & Television industry continues to grow, local & regional actors are getting more and more opportunities to flex their acting muscles with every audition. But with a record number of new projects constantly in production, limited information given AND being on your own to record, how do you create dynamic, engaging characters that jump off the screen yet still fit into the project at hand?

Learn how effective research, attention to detail & improvisation techniques help create nuanced, authentic characters for seemingly “by-the-book” roles.

Join Karen Ceesay (actress, writer, and producer known for her work on The Walking Dead, Stranger Things, and Black Lightning) for another edition of her acting workshop designed to hone your craft and improve your audition techniques.
